The Situation
To meet the great range of societal challenges that affect the educational system, educational institutions will have to start seeing themselves as “learning organizations” and organizational development as a permanent process. Ideally, a learning organization is a system that is constantly in motion. Whatever happens is perceived as a stimulus by the members of the organization and applied to drive development processes.
The Goal
Ideally, the organization’s learning takes place in a system that is constantly in motion. Whatever happens is perceived as a stimulus by the members of the organization and applied to drive development processes in an effort to adapt the organization’s knowledge base and leeway to the new conditions. This requires an open and individual organization that can build on the full commitment of everybody involved.
