On September 23, our founder Robert Bosch would have turned 160 years old. His legacy is what drives us. To continue his commitment to social and societal causes in a contemporary form, we have realigned our work. The goal is to make our provided support more effective. Our new movie shows what this means and what we are working on.

"When we look at the world today, what do we see?": Our founder Robert Bosch made it part of our mission to frequently review our own work. Therefore, we have profoundly restructured our activities to respond to national and international processes of change, social challenges, and the ongoing transformation of philanthropy.

Focus on the major issues of the day

In our three funding areas Health, Education and Global Issues we focus on ten topics. As a Foundation, we want to dive deeper into the make-up of complex issues and aim to pay greater attention to the relevant correlations between the issues – for example, how climate change contributes to migration or how education and inequality affect one another. This move is motivated by the desire to make our provided support more effective.

Our founder: Robert Bosch

Robert Bosch Stiftung was founded in 1964 on behalf of the will of Robert Bosch. In his legacy he determined that “apart from the alleviation of all kinds of hardship, […] the moral, physical and intellectual development of the people" shall be promoted by the profits of his assets.
