The job description and professional field of daycare center management are currently in a process of transformation. With the increasing importance attributed to public daycare for children’s successful development and the greater demands being placed on its quality and effectiveness, standards for management in daycare centers are also on the rise. Daycare center directors therefore play a key role in developing the quality of the facilities. Today, the tasks of daycare center directors are very wide-ranging and extensive, necessitating managerial ability along with pedagogical skills. The “LeiQplus” project aims to provide practical, extra-occupational support for management staff in structuring their leadership roles and strengthening their professional skills. Based on the latest scientific findings and with the integration of practical experience, we will design, test, and formatively evaluate an ongoing modular concept for management qualification.
