In Brief

About the project

To achieve the European Union’s (EU) climate targets, it is essential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector in the individual member states. We are supporting relevant actors across ten Central and Eastern European countries in sharing their experiences with the aim of driving forward the transformation of the agricultural sector in these countries. To this end, the think tank Ecologic Institute will first analyze existing national strategies for a transition towards a climate neutral and resilient agricultural sector. The resulting analysis will then serve as the basis for discussion in joint workshops with representatives from politics, administration, civil society, (the agricultural) industry, and advisory research in the countries studied. Concrete examples of implementation will be presented there and approaches for implementing climate-friendly measures will be developed. The results will be included in a report, which will provide key momentum for translating EU agricultural policy into national measures.
