New Team to Manage Robert Bosch Stiftung

  • Dr. Bernhard Straub joins the board of management.
  • Prof. Dr. Joachim Rogall retires on June 30.

Stuttgart, 29 June 2021. As of 1 July 2021, Sandra Breka and Dr. Bernhard Straub will jointly manage the Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH. The current Chairman of the Board of Management, Prof. Dr. Joachim Rogall, will retire on 30 June 2021.

Since 2014, Dr. Straub (57) has been responsible for the electrical drives division at Robert Bosch GmbH. Prior to this, he held various positions in the company, including in India and Japan. In the new dual leadership, he will be responsible for the Health and Education funding areas and the associated subsidiaries. Sandra Breka is responsible for the Global Issues funding area, the Strategic Partnerships unit, and the Robert Bosch Academy.

We look forward to working with him and are convinced that he will provide important impetus for the foundation’s economic, cultural, and substantive development," says Dr. Christof Bosch, Chairman of the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s Board of Trustees.

Prof. Dr. Rogall, an historian who has worked at the Robert Bosch Stiftung since 1996, had been on the board since 2013 and its chairman as of 2017. Before joining the board of management, as division director for international understanding he had been responsible for the foundation's activities in Central Europe, Southeastern Europe, the CIS, and China. 

"Over the past 25 years, Joachim Rogall shaped the Robert Bosch Stiftung with his extraordinary commitment and an impressive sensitivity for socially relevant issues. We thank him sincerely for this commitment and for the foresight with which he has helped position the foundation for the future," says Dr. Bosch.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung is active in the fields of health, education, and global issues. Since its establishment, the foundation has provided more than 1.9 billion euros for charitable projects.
