His analysis and commentary have been featured in leading media outlets such as Germany's Tagesspiegel and Handelsblatt, and internationally on platforms like CNN. He also writes for respected think tanks like the German Council on Foreign Relations.
Before joining the Foundation, Hannes worked in humanitarian and development aid, mainly in the Middle East, including for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Iran and with CARE in Iraq. Hannes holds degrees in Management and Public Policy (Hertie School) and Political Science (University of Oxford and Freie Universität Berlin).
