Julia is a Senior Expert in the Peace Team and heads the foundation's work on international cooperation. She also chairs the Steering Committee of the European Fund for the Balkans. Julia's work focuses on identifying and supporting sustainable models of peace process support and future-oriented formats for international cooperation, as well as integrating local interests into peace processes. She brings to this work her extensive expertise as a peace mediator and political consultant: For the Center for Peace Mediation, Julia provided methodological support to the German Federal Foreign Office and advanced the concept of peace mediation in Germany. Together with Ukrainian partners, she conducted research on dialogue processes in Ukraine and worked as an NGO track 2 mediator in Kosovo. She also has many years of experience as political advisor to Alliance 90/The Greens in the German Bundestag. As a freelancer, Julia worked for the OSCE in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is a co-founder of the Women Mediators Network Germany (WPM) and the Mediation Support Germany Initiative (IMSD). Julia studied law and media science.
