This pressure is attributed by many actors, at least in part, to migration processes. However, the (assumed) relationships between migration, social cohesion and democracy often remain unclear. Without a clear understanding of these relationships, it is not possible to take appropriate policy measures to strengthen cohesion. This discussion paper therefore attempts to provide an initial orientation to the debate and to identify specific areas for further work. (German text only)
