High demand for soy and beef causes deforestation of large forest areas in the countries of the South American economic region Mercosur. The largest importers of these agricultural commodities, the European Union and China, share responsibility for this development. This project aims to work toward ensuring deforestation-free supply chains between these regions of the world, thereby protecting South America’s precious forests. To this end, formats are being created to enable exchanges that will further advance both the European and Chinese debates on possible solutions.
