The School for Peace (SFP) is an educational peacebuilding organization situated in the village Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom, a Jewish Palestinian village founded in 1979. The SFP facilitates dialogue, academic and professional courses for Jewish and Palestinian adults, students, and youth. So far, over 65,000 Jewish and Palestinian people have participated in the courses and workshops, and over a thousand facilitators have been trained, who today lead organizations dealing with political and social change.
At the heart of SFP's peace education are principles such as empowerment, transformation, and critical thinking. Through partnerships with different organizations, it integrates diverse perspectives ranging from environmental justice to social justice.
Despite the outbreak of the war in Gaza and the resulting extreme societal tensions, the (SFP) continues to foster dialog between Jewish Israelis and Palestinians, addressing existing structural inequalities. The SFP enables spaces in which both Jews and Palestinians can process their grief and work together on solutions. In addition, since the outbreak of the war, the SFP has been facilitating institutions that have been strongly polarized by the conflict, with the aim of restoring better communication and strengthening their capacities.
The School for Peace is a unique actor actively shaping societies even in times of heightened tensions and is committed to long-term peace and mutual understanding. We support the SFP and the project Citizens for Environment.
