In brief

About the project

Europe Prykhystok (EP) started its activities in April 2022. Through 34 organized respite stays, 748 children from 7 regions and 23 cities of Ukraine have been provided the opportunity to recuperate and "catch their breath" from the ravages of war in 22 locations in France.

Europe Prykhystok supports children-victims of the war in Ukraine by facilitating innovative partnerships between local actors from Ukraine and Europe. These partnerships involve partners at the local level, including cities, regions, agglomerations, and civil society organizations, with a focus on placing children at the forefront. In doing so, EP develops a decentralized regional governance model for supporting populations victims of war.

Europe Prykhystok constantly listens to the needs of local populations and develops actions together with them.

With a large network of local actors, we organize:

1. “Respite stays” outside Ukraine for children – 2 to 3 weeks.

2. “Transplanted classes”: children who have started their fourth consecutive school year in distance learning come to Europe with their teachers to learn the Ukrainian curriculum in person – 3 to 4 weeks.

3. Support to youth and internally displaced people within Ukraine: renovation of collective centres and development of children and youth empowerment centres, especially in the areas that are most affected by the war.

4. Development of local-to-local institutional and operational cooperation partnerships between Ukraine and Europe.

This year Europe Prykhystok expands in Germany, a lot of German cities express their interest in developing EP activities here.
