The rules-based international order is under unique pressure to change. Climate change, technological change, pandemics, and shifts in economic, political, military, and demographic power demand state and civil society engagement to develop sustainable solutions.
To achieve this, an understanding of the status quo is essential. We are therefore proud that our partner, the Stimson Center, a leading global foreign policy think tank in Washington, D.C., has developed the Global Governance Index (GGI). It represents the first known attempt to evaluate a group of the most important states on the basis of uniform criteria with regard to their engagement in international cooperation. The focus is on the G7 and BRICS states, which account for 71% of global GDP and 51% of the world's population.
The aim of the event is to present new evidence-based ideas and practices that will drive the necessary transformation of our international cooperation. Especially, this is done in view of the "Future Summit" of the United Nations in September 2024.
In the first part of the event, we will present the key findings of the Index. These will then be commented on by a panel of experts and you. The event will be held in English.
We would be delighted if you could join us for this discussion and welcome you afterwards with drinks and canapés.
Please register by June 30.
