United World Colleges (UWC) is a global educational movement with the mission to use education as a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and sustainability. This event will explore how a values-driven, transformative education empowers young people to become engaged, compassionate, and effective leaders equipped to address the world’s most pressing challenges.
With 18 schools and colleges across four continents—including UWC Robert Bosch College in Freiburg—and a network of over 150 national committees such as UWC Deutschland in Berlin, UWC fosters academic excellence, intercultural understanding, and social responsibility. The evening will highlight how this unique educational model continues to shape the next generation of changemakers.
The official programme will begin with a short film on UWC Robert Bosch College, followed by opening remarks from Dr. Musimbi Kanyoro, Chair of the UWC International Board, and student testimonials. A panel discussion will feature:
Faith Abiodun, Executive Director of UWC International
Anna Maria Braun, CEO of B. Braun Melsungen & UWC Alumna
Prof. Dr. Klaus Hurrelmann, Professor of Public Health and Education
Laurence Nodder, Former Head of UWC Robert Bosch College
The panel will be moderated by Katrin Bennhold, Award-winning Journalist and former Berlin Bureau Chief of The New York Times.
The evening will conclude with a rooftop cocktail reception, offering opportunities for networking and meaningful conversations.
