More than half of all refugees in Germany are under 24 years old. Many of these young refugees attend preparatory classes at vocational and general education schools. Often, there is a lack of contact opportunities to get to know students in regular classes. Furthermore, vocational schools in particular are facing the challenge of preparing young people for a globalized and diverse work environment and teaching the necessary intercultural competence. This is where the worldlab project comes in: It brings together young people in preparatory and regular classes of vocational schools to discuss shared values.
