In Germany, the educational success of young people is still too often dependent on the socioeconomic status of their parents. This means that – especially for young people from disadvantaged families – education is the key to a self-determined and successful future. "Talent im Land" helps gifted, educationally ambitious, devoted and socially involved 7th- to 12th-graders to work towards their school-leaving examination (Abitur). The students receive a monthly stipend, personal advice, and access to a comprehensive range of educational offers (meetings, university open days, seminars, summer schools, etc.). Depending on their individual needs, they may also receive grants for computer equipment, school trips, and additional tuition in German or a foreign language. Applicants are primarily selected according to their ability and financial needs.
We and our partners will support students who have been accepted into the program before 2019 until they complete their secondary school education. Beginning with students who have been accepted in 2019, Baden-Württemberg Stiftung and Josef Wund Stiftung will provide continued support for the program in Baden-Württemberg.
