About the project

What is powersharing? What does implementation mean for everyone involved? Which mechanisms are effective? As part of a series of events, we want to shed light on the still relatively unknown concept of powersharing.

First of all: powersharing strategies are based on the recognition of unequal power relations and refer to the (re)sharing of resources, access and privileges. Discrimination and the denial of participation due to origin, cultural or religious affiliation exist in very different systems and institutions. Empowering concepts that strengthen the resilience of those affected work against this. In order to initiate structural change, it is also necessary to address privileged actors and transform powerful organizations.

As part of our funding activities, we support institutions that have an interest in shifting structures towards a fairer distribution in order to make a key contribution to balancing the interests of different social groups. With this series of events, we are active in the four sectors of culture, media, philanthropy and welfare.
