The German School Academy is an independent institution for school development and teacher training active throughout Germany. The services it offers are directed toward all schools in Germany as well government agencies, teacher training institutes, municipalities, and private school operators. The Academy makes materials on excellent school operations available, invites interested parties to discuss experiences, provides advice on topics related to school and teaching development, and organizes innovative advanced training measures as well as extensive school development programs.
The Academy's goal is to spread the models of outstanding school operations from approximately ten years of the German School Award throughout the German educational landscape. To accomplish this goal, the Academy maintains, coordinates, and moderates a network of dedicated school administrators and teachers with experience in enacting reforms. With the support of academics and other experts, the Academy refines successful concepts from actual school operations and organizes advanced training seminars focused on real-world situations. As a result, the Academy offers schools the opportunity to learn from and with the best. This systematic real-world approach is one-of-a-kind in Germany.
As a charitable organization, the German School Academy is funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Heidehof Stiftung. By founding the Academy, the two foundations are continuing their long-term commitment to school development and are putting the focus on the actual goal of the German School Award – increasing the number of excellent schools!
