The focus of the Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP) is to provide a modern view of Germany in U.S. schools. The program is supported by the Robert Bosch Stiftung in cooperation with the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, the Goethe-Institut, Deutsche Bank and the Siemens Corporation. Through its study tours, professional development workshops, and teaching materials, TOP provides North American Social Studies teachers and education experts with a direct insight into German society. After their return home, the participants pass on their knowledge and experiences to their colleagues as well as to their students. They promote intercultural dialog and a modern view of Germany. So far, more than 1,000 educators have participated in TOP. In addition to this group, there is a group of high-ranking decision makers working in the field of education, who are invited to Germany to learn more about its educational system.
