New Ideas for Active Citizenship
Since 2001, the Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg has supported young people that want to play a role in shaping their society as active and responsible citizens. The Kolleg program frame offers training seminars and courses for voluntary project work. The focus is on one’s own voluntary and beneficiary project, which is supported by experienced mentors over the course of several months – from the idea to its implementation. Alumni that are interested in remaining involved with the Kolleg can participate in a training course to become mentors for the seminars and educational work.
The program is carried out in cooperation with the MitOst e.V., which is based in Berlin and is also responsible for coordinating the program. The Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg works together with partners on local or cross-border programs in its main regions of focus: South Eastern Europe, Russia, Ukraine/Poland, and the South Caucasus.
