Tandem Europe is the recent addition to the Tandem program family. It is tailor-made for people who work on creative solutions that make social innovation possible throughout the EU and beyond. The program stimulates strategic thinking in organisational renewal processes, helps to create and sustain culturally innovative effects across sectors, disciplines and borders, and explores creative and collaborative solutions for contemporary challenges in our societies. The focus of the second and third round of Tandem Europe (autumn 2017- until the end of 2020) remains on social innovation through cultural and cross-sector collaboration. Beside cultural managers, the program address public institutions and administration as well as civil society actors that are not primarily working in the field of arts and culture. Furthermore, the topics of commons, urban and rural regeneration will be explored. In international tandems the program participants develop and realize joint socially and culturally innovative projects. The projects are supposed to be exemplary, support the development of their organization, and have an effect on local communities. Tandem participants are trained during international seminars, get a vocational placement at a partner organization and receive funding. For the second program round, eligibility has been extended to organisations based in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. As before, organisations from all current 28 EU countries are eligible.Tandem Europe is an initiative of European Cultural Foundation and MitOst e.V., supported by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, Fondazione Cariplo foundation and Stavros Niarchos. The second round of the program will be implemented in cooperation with 4iS from Aveiro (Portugal), COMM’ON from Athens (Greece) and Ideas Factory from Sofia (Bulgaria).
