Are you a media outlet in East Africa interested in investigating environmental crimes? EJN is offering grants of up to $15,000 to media outlets in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan to investigate nature crimes, including wildlife trafficking.
The illegal wildlife trade, worth around $23 billion annually, operates through a complex transcontinental chain, from source countries—many in Africa—to destination countries, often in Asia.
EJN, through its East Africa Wildlife Journalism project, is offering up to $15,000 each to media houses in East Africa seeking to expose—using financial tools—money laundering, fraud, bribery, corruption, and illicit payments related to environmental crimes.
The grants will support collaborative projects between East African and Asian media outlets to expose both the supply and demand side of environmental crimes. Find out more and apply by October 9, 2023: https://buff.ly/4847n0J
