About the project
Like other chronically ill individuals, people with rare chronic diseases are faced with the challenge of constantly needing to adapt in order to comply with therapeutic measures and lead as normal and healthy a life as possible, despite their chronic symptoms and limitations. At the same time, they experience additional psychosocial stress due to the rarity of their illness – and the unusual nature of their pathology or their geographical distance from other patients with the same condition can mean that they are unable to take advantage of many existing resources. We support projects that encompass a variety of diseases and are aimed at improving health literacy and disease management in people with rare chronic illnesses. The call for submissions “Rare Chronic Diseases – Health Literacy and Disease Management” is addressed to applicants from every institution and profession who can make a contribution to improving health literacy and disease management for people with rare chronic illnesses, whatever those illnesses may be.
