About the project
During the Cold War, close ties between African and Central European countries were maintained. Over the last 25 years, the once socialist countries on both continents went through similar transformations, but there have been fewer points of contact and no targeted exchange since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Current challenges such as migration, international security, questions of governance, and economic factors are now revealing the importance of closer relationships.
The project "Political and economic development in Central Europe and Africa: shared learning from post-socialist countries" contributes to the academic dialog between European and African researchers.
