The growing number of patients, who suffer not only from an acute illness, but have also dementia, is a great challenge for hospitals. The daily hospital routine ingnores in many ways the special needs of persons with dementia, which becomes a burden not only for the patients, but also for the members of staff. More and more German hospitals want to change this situation. Therefore the Robert Bosch Stiftung supports the development and implementation of concepts which respond to the needs of patients with dementia. With up to 100.000 € per hospital, an educational journey to model institutions and networking possibilities the hospitals are supported during a three year project period.
