Why are we running this project?
The complex treatment and care processes when providing care to chronically ill and multimorbid patients as well as the limited resources demand an effective and problem-free collaboration between all occupational groups active in the health care sector – and this is closely related to the success and continuity of care as well as patients’ security and quality of life. Interprofessionalism and new, supportive forms of partnership are increasingly becoming essential requirements for the provision of excellent health care.
What are our goals?
The aim is to integrate more closely interprofessional and culturally sensitive aspects and contents into further education in the health sector. Another goal is to strengthen interprofessional training culture in outpatient and inpatient settings in order to improve patient-oriented health care in Germany.
How does the project work?
In our funding program "Operation Team - Interprofessional Training in the Health Professions", eleven selected regional projects are currently promoting the interprofessional dialogue of health projects. The focus is on the professional collaboration of doctors, nurses and therapists in the care of chronically ill patients. Another 14 selected regional projects address the interprofessional skills of professionals in intercultural healthcare.
