About the Project
The project “Baladiya - New Paths in Urban Development” targets Algerian, Moroccan, and Tunisian experts in the field of urban development and enables them to exchange knowledge and experience among each other and with German counterparts.
The project has been initiated as well as financed by the Robert Bosch Stiftung and is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) as part of its CoMun program. It has been carried out by the European Academy Berlin which, together with its partners, enables the participating urban planners to develop their own projects and create transnational, practice-oriented networks. The program consists of discussions, presentations, visits, field trips, and competence trainings. Within the framework of the program, participants have an opportunity to get to know an everyday professional life in a German municipality during individually organized shadowing placements.
