In a complex and dynamic world where socio-economic change challenges our very sense of community, we need new vehicles for promoting methodological competencies and knowledge transfer. Enterprise plays a central role in fostering strong, resilient societies focused on public welfare. Now, we are seeking to foreground enterprises as responsible actors and innovative places of learning. Supported by the German Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the program trains and educates individual employees in house to become “Civic Scouts”. These employees are given training on socio-economic issues, including diversity, sustainability, and social media, alongside a 12- to 14-month program that teaches methodological skills and empowers employees to draw on these during times of conflict or negotiation within the enterprise.
