About the Project
Rare chronic diseases are in fact numerous: over 7,000 rare diseases have been identified so far. A total of four million people in Germany currently live with a rare disease. Many of those afflicted are forced to spend years and sometimes decades heading down wrong paths before receiving a correct diagnosis. Besides the high level of psychological stress, this also means the path to the best possible treatment and care is long and arduous. The Robert Bosch Stiftung therefore supports projects that can be expected to shorten the path to a diagnosis for people with various types of rare chronic conditions. The deadline for project outlines was May 15, 2013.
