Values & Culture

Robert Bosch Stiftung – Focused on People.

Since 1964.

Our ambitious goal – which we pursue relentlessly – is to instigate social change: today, tomorrow, and in the future. Within our charitable project and program work, we therefore continuously address current social challenges, remaining nonpartisan and independent at all times.

Together with our 180 or so employees, we work to improve people’s living conditions, establish support networks, offer guidance, and improve the prospects of those we help. To enable us to do this, one of the largest company-associated endowments in Germany is at our disposal, with annual grants of €70 million.

Our dedicated and qualified employees form the basis of our success. They are the ones who repeatedly face new challenges with determination and confidence, overcoming them with expertise and flair in abundance. We are very proud of them.

Quote Robert Bosch "Each job is important, even the smallest one. No one should make the mistake of thinking that their work is superior to that of their employee. Everyone should work for the good of the whole."

We treat each other in a way that is open-minded, respectful, and appreciative.

Direct communication plays a key role at the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Conversations and regular communication via a host of formats and platforms create valuable synergies and make our work in society even more successful.

We work with each other independently and hand in hand.

We are a strong team that pursues shared goals while giving lateral thinkers, strategic thinkers, and innovative thinkers the creative freedom they need. As an employer and a supporter, the Robert Bosch Stiftung fosters its employees.

Our goal is to bring together innovation and tradition.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung promotes the common good and the development of civil society. Social change gives rise to many new questions and demands innovative solutions far from the beaten path. We face up to these challenges together in the form of numerous projects and with our own programs. Our forward-looking ideas and solutions are based on the tradition and value system of our founder, which means helping and supporting others and strengthening society.

Bringing People and Issues Together

Daycare and school for the 21st century

What is the impact of digitalization or automation on people, on the way we learn at educational institutions and live together in society? And what will our future workplaces look like?

People will have to focus on tasks that cannot be automated and that require creativity, social intelligence, reflection, and cooperation. Also, knowledge and skills are required to understand, use, critically view, and apply digital technologies.

Making health care fit for the future

Since the Robert Bosch Stiftung was founded in 1964, a focus on health has been a key aspect of our work, and one which began with the establishment of the Robert Bosch Hospital, which the man himself inaugurated in 1940. Today our activities in this field center around the ongoing challenge of offering optimal health care – both now and in the future – to the growing number of people with chronic conditions and multiple illnesses, in view of demographic changes and the continual digitization of health care.

Joint solutions to global challenges

Promoting peace and stability to alleviate human suffering was a matter particularly close to Robert Bosch’s heart. He advocated for a democratic state, the rule of law, and a liberal society with responsible, free citizens. As a foundation, it is our task to carry out his legacy in keeping with the times.

Today, peaceful coexistence depends on finding answers to the current global questions. We can only master these challenges by joining hands and incorporating different viewpoints. Solving these issues requires cross-sectoral collaboration and for all people to be equally involved in society.

With this in mind, the Foundation identifies and promotes effective solutions. Our “Global Issues” support area focuses on the following topics: democracy, immigration society, peace, climate change, and migration. We also address inequality as part of a development mandate.
