Our Approach to Promoting Refugee Integration and Participation

As a result of the rising number of refugees in Germany, policymakers, government authorities and civil society are confronted with various challenges. Through a variety of projects Robert Bosch Stiftung shows how new approaches can be used to strengthen social cohesion and allow refugees to participate in society, education, and culture.

Through the projects that we are supporting, we want to
  • identify and support innovative pilot projects that correspond to our understanding of participation.
  • strengthen contact on equal footing between local populations and refugees.
  • promote volunteer work for and with refugees over the long term.
  • develop recommendations and strategies for decision-makers.
  • promote the openness of society for a positive attitude towards refugees.

Enabling the access of refugees to all social sectors and giving them the chance to become equal members of society is very important. Model projects show how diverse means of inclusion can be experienced, for example through guidance from volunteer mentors or new models for living together within communities.

More Projects on Migration and Inclusion
