Postgraduate Program in International Affairs
Globalization and internationalization have an increasing impact on politics and economics and have increased Germany’s international responsibility. The United Nations, their subsidiary organizations and the institutions of the European Union have become central forums and agents of international politics. This development raises demand for qualified young German executives.
The postgraduate program ("Stiftungskolleg für Internationale Aufgaben") supports highly qualified and motivated graduates from all academic fields seeking employment in international organizations. The program prepares fellows for a career, especially in the fields of foreign and security policy, economic policy, and technical, scientific and development-related cooperation.
The Robert Bosch Stiftung organizes the program in cooperation with the German National Academic Foundation. The German Foreign Office supports the program as a cooperation partner.
20 fellowships are awarded each year. During the 13-month program, the fellows work for international organizations on a practical assignment in international cooperation which they themselves have chosen. In addition to internships, seminars on international politics and leadership competence are also arranged.
The program has existed for more than 10 years and has produced more than 200 fellows. Former fellows have founded an Alumni Organization that maintains the network of fellows.
