Film Festival Turkey / Germany

This film festival organized by InterForum Kunst&Kultur, Nuremberg is a Category B festival that presents new Turkish and German films in an annual competition. It is the only festival of its kind in Europe. Evenly weighted selection committees of German and Turkish experts award prizes for motion pictures, short films, documentaries, actors, directors, young film makers and a human rights category. In discussions with directors, actors and film critics, the approx. 10,000 visitors experience an intensive encounter between the two cultures. Media reports and film distribution generate awareness of the festival beyond the Nuremberg region.

16. Film Festival Turkey / Germany

The 16. Film Festival Turkey / Germany took place in March 2011 in Nuremberg. Despite its growth to Germany´s most important German-Turkish Film Festival with 10,000 visitors, it is still organized by dedicated citizens. The Robert Bosch Stiftung supports this initiative since 2004 because it uniquely promotes the understanding of each other´s and our common culture. This year, the festival´s Honorary Award went to the director Fatih Akın. (Photo: Achim Kröpsch)
