Prize Award
The Otto Mühlschlegel Prize 2006 was awarded in Baden-Baden on October 13. Approximately a hundred guests attended the ceremony at which Dr. Heiner Gutberlet, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Robert Bosch Stiftung, awarded the main prize to the Wohn- und Pflegezentrum Westhavelland in Rathenow for its pioneering work in the field of civic involvement. Other prizes went to Stuttgart, capital of Baden-Württemberg, the Ökologisches Schullandheim Licherode, Seniorpartner in School e.V., the friends and sponsors of Dresdner Seniorenakademie, Seniorenakademie Alfeld, and the Zentrum für Innovation in der Gesundheitswirtschaft. The jury commended another 20 projects for their exemplary initiatives to promote the involvement of older people in society.
In her laudatory address, Professor Lehr emphasized the opportunities of old age and said that everyone had a duty to engage in lifelong learning and seek orientation and information.
The day after the award ceremony, the foundation held a specialist workshop entitled "Wissen—Können – Handeln" ("Knowledge – Skills – Action"), at which the prizewinners and representatives of the projects that received commendation could exchange experiences and discuss specialist issues with selected experts in the following fields:
