Senioren-Akademie Alfeld e.V., Alfeld:

Living an active and fulfilled life in old age
3,000 euros

The Senioren-Akademie Alfeld was founded in 1993 and currently has almost 600 members. The academy offers a variety of seminars in the arts, crafts, and humanities as well as language courses and support for visually impaired senior citizens and their families. The academy also has an emergency hotline and offers the "SchreibfreuNde" writers' group, study trips, exhibitions, and lectures. In addition, it runs a project on "Dialog between Generations," which enables senior citizens to visit kindergartens and schools and work with unemployed young people. No prior educational qualifications are required for participating in the Senioren-Akademie Alfeld, and health issues that may arise in old age – such as strokes or deteriorating vision and hearing – do not represent obstacles to participation.
