Wissenschaftsbrücke China:
Vom Kontakt zur Kooperation
In China, both the economy and science are booming. "Wissenschaftsbrücke China" is a program in which Robert Bosch Stiftung helps scientists in Germany initiate and/or intensify exchange and cooperation with researchers in China. To help initial contact develop into sustained collaboration, the foundation covers the costs of visits, fellowships and work meetings. The program is aimed at employees of science and engineering facilities as well as medical institutions in Germany. Applications to the program are accepted at any time.
"Excellent Chinese scientists often focus exclusively on the USA as their frame of reference when planning an international career. We would like to help establish Germany as a worthwhile alternative," says Ingrid Wünning, the Head of the Science and Research Program Area at Robert Bosch Stiftung.
Support is available for projects that assess and initiate joint research projects and intensify existing cooperation projects. The aim is to create a dense network for information exchange between scientists in Germany and China and enable many more researchers from Germany to familiarize themselves with the fast-growing Chinese research sector while also bringing Germany's research sector to the attention of Chinese scientists.
The programs of Robert Bosch Stiftung aim to promote the German science sector. They include measures to support information exchange with other countries. For example, we sponsor the Nobel Prize Winners' Conference in Lindau and the German Scholars Organization in the USA. We also sponsor projects in which school students work with scientists and foster the potential of women in science.
