The Polish Library
The Polish Library was established in 1981 by Karl Dedecius, founder of the Deutsches Polen-Institut in Darmstadt, by Suhrkamp-Verlag and the Robert Bosch Stiftung. The wide-ranging collection of books for bibliophiles in 50 volumes introduces German readers to the richness and variety of Polish literature, from the middle ages through the renaissance and baroque age, the enlightenment and the age of romanticism to the Nobel Laureates of the 20th century.
The Polish Library was completed in 2000 at Frankfurt Book Fair with publication of the 50th volume: "My Century" by Aleksander Wat.
