Her commitment to philanthropy is something she shares with her father. Robert Bosch’s youngest daughter celebrated her 85th birthday on December 10, 2016. After originally wanting to be an author or actress, Eva Madelung completed vocational training as a family therapist and became an expert in the field. As a therapist, she views challenges from the solution backward - a mindset that she carried over to her activities as a founder.

Eva Madelung was a member of the Robert Bosch Stiftung’s Board of Trustees from its founding in 1964 until 2001. During this time, it was extremely important to her that the foundation’s activities had a practical focus, and in the 1970s she launched the foundation’s first educational projects. In 1971, she started a foundation for education and disability awareness with her brother Robert Bosch Jr. - today’s Heidehof Stiftung. She is also a co-initiator of the German School Award, which the Heidehof Stiftung grants in collaboration with the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
