Accepting challenges
Social and demographic change as well as migration and integration pose challenges to the sustainability of our society and its institutions. We address demographic change from two perspectives: We look for effective family support initiatives in politics, business and society to bring about a shift that can lead to more children being born in Germany.
At the same time we are looking for appropriate and productive approaches to the challenges posed by an aging society. We support civic commitment as a form of democratic participation that is acquiring greater importance in many areas of society. After years of debate, there is now a far reaching consensus in politics and society that an active integration policy is required. We promote equal participation by all with respect for cultural diversity, and we support immigrants in familiarizing themselves with the language and values of Germany's society and encourage them to play an active role in social life in the context of many programs.
