"Learning from Partners"

In cooperation with nine major German foundations and the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors’ Association for the Promotion of Humanities and Sciences in Germany), the Robert Bosch Stiftung has systematically gathered feedback from its grant applicants and funding partners. For the project "Learning from Partners," a research group at the Centre for Social Investment (CSI) at the University of Heidelberg interviewed over 10,000 partners on topics such as partner satisfaction, administrative processes, and forms of support offered by the foundations, as well as the question of how the foundations are perceived and evaluated by their partners. The majority of the funding partners (nearly 94 percent) expressed a high level of satisfaction in their partnerships with the respective foundation. However, the study also clearly revealed the partners’ wish for better information and more transparency.
