50th Anniversary of the Robert Bosch Stiftung

The Foundation has campaigned for understanding between cultures for over 50 years, supporting people and ideas in search for answers to social issues

Today, the Robert Bosch Stiftung is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding. On Friday June 26, 1964, the Bosch family formally transferred the majority of the shares they held in Robert Bosch GmbH to the not-for-profit Vermögensverwaltung Bosch GmbH (Bosch asset management), which would later go on to become the Robert Bosch Stiftung. In the span of 50 years, the Robert Bosch Stiftung has invested more than €1.2 billion in charitable activities, and to providing funding for over 21,000 projects.

Health, education, and international understanding have been the central issues to which the Foundation has devoted itself since its establishment. It has since widened its focus to include other fields such as science, society, and culture. The Foundation uses practical projects to tackle the challenges of the day in these areas, demonstrate solutions, and initiate change.

The anniversary year

The anniversary's slogan is "50 Years Shaping the Future" and a lot is going on this year. This Thursday the Foundation is celebrating the 50th birthday with its partners and friends. On July 5, 2014, we are opening the Foundation's park and buildings in Stuttgart for the first time and invite our guests to take a look behind the scenes of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and learn more about our work. In October we will hold an international conference in Berlin.
