Head to Head - Thoughts from America

In the Head to Head event series, renowned Americans discuss art, culture, and politics with select German public figures. Head to Head invites citizens from the Stuttgart region to participate in the transatlantic dialog.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung has carried out the event series at the Literaturhaus Stuttgart since early 2012 in cooperation with the American Academy in Berlin, the Berthold Leibinger Foundation, and the Georg von Holtzbrinck GmbH publishing group.

Up until now, discussions have been held between American literary scholar Leland de la Durantaye and ZEIT editor Ijoma Mangold as well as between Karen J. Alter, professor of Political Science and Law at Northwestern University, and the judge representing Germany at the European Court of Human Rights, Professor Dr. Angelika Nußberger. Futhermore discussions were held with, among others, Professor Dr. Ronald Suny, University of Michigan or different members of the German Bundestag.
