Civil Society

In order to develop and maintain a lively civil society, citizens must actively assume responsibility for the common good. In addition, the government is called upon to create the conditions and climate necessary for an active citizenry, following the principles of "Good Governance." The Foundation wants to particularly appeal to young people and support their creative ideas when it comes to getting citizens actively involved. This role can be directly traced back to Robert Bosch's own wishes and initiatives.

Culture

Knowledge of foreign cultures contributes to more understanding for other cultures. The Foundation supports culture as a means of opening doors to international understanding beyond the political domain. The formation of a European identity built on the diversity of its cultures and also increasing both the art community's and intercultural mediators' awareness of international understanding are issues the Foundation strives to support.

Education

Educational institutions play a key role in the development of modern, democratic societies, since education is an area of common interest, even in difficult political relationships. The Foundation supports young academics as key promoters of international understanding and, in this context, focuses primarily on the People's Republic of China in addition to select multilateral programs.
