Seminars and program content 2008/2009

The Seminars (course phases) include an introduction to international relations, work on current themes in international politics and the development of leadership competencies. Course participants also meet fellows from the other international Robert Bosch Stiftung programs to promote young people, including the foundation program for young American executives and the fellowship for young executives from Central Europe. The courses last a total of 7 weeks.

The funding period is thirteen months, from September 2008 to September 2009. During the period between selection and the start of the program, the outlined project aims are developed and the planned internships are arranged in consultation with the foundation. A high level of own initiative is expected. The foundation provides support in organizing the internships. The preparatory seminar in July 2008 serves to coordinate the project aims and plan the internships.

Foreign language skills required for the program can be acquired during the preparatory phase and the fellowship year. Funding is available for language courses from the time a fellow is accepted into the program through to the end of the fellowship year.

Alumni

Former fellows are available to provide advice to program participants. They also act as experts in the courses. The alumni are organized in the fellowship’s Alumni Association.

Today, many alumni work in multilateral bodies such as the EU, OSCE, WHO, UNDP, UNHCR, in global corporations, German and foreign institutions for development cooperation, or in non-governmental organizations.
