Award Ceremony 2009
The 2009 "Journalistenpreis Bürgerschaftliches Engagement" was awarded in three categories: Print, Radio and TV. The total prize money is € 35,000. A total of 115 print entries, 40 radio entries and 71 TV entries was submitted.
The award ceremony took place at Bosch Haus Heidehof in Stuttgart on December 5, 2009. The long-time chairman of the jury Gerd Appenzeller, editorial director of the Berlin daily "Tagesspiegel", was honored with the Foundation Medal.

TV: Lutz Ackermann, freelance journalist, Anita Blasberg, editor of "Zeit-Dossier", and Marian Blasberg, "Zeit", were awarded the prize for their film „Die Weggeworfenen - Geschichte einer Abschiebung“, which was broadcast December 17, 2008 by the TV station ZDF.
Radio: Liane Gruß, Martin Schneider and Momo Faltlhauser, editors of Radio Fritz (rbb), were awarded the prize for their serial „Die machen’s schon. Portraits von Ehrenamtlern“, aired from Mai 11-15, 2009 by Radio Fritz (rbb).
Print: Frank Buchmeier, editor of Stuttgarter Zeitung, was awarded the prize for his article „Eines Morgens an der Sonnenuhrhütte“, published June 3, 2009 by Stuttgarter Zeitung.
Marion-Dönhoff-Förderpreis: Denise Bergfeld, trainee of Rhein-Zeitung, was awarded the prize for her article „Marthes langer Weg zurück ins Leben“, published on May 23, 2009 by Rhein-Zeitung.
