German-French cultural events such as film festivals, theater productions, and exhibitions featuring artists from Germany and France reach a wide range of people. They create interest in current trends and artistic perspectives, and allow the audience to gain insights into the neighboring country. This is how they contribute to a mutual understanding of the neighboring culture, and play an important role in deepening the friendship between Germany and France.
 
In order to foster sustainability in common cultural projects between German and French institutions, and to create new and stable partnerships, the Robert Bosch Stiftung calls for applications for the DUO funding program.
 
During one year, two cultural institutions work together in tandem, and have the opportunity to send an employee to the partner institution during two to four weeks. The exchange is funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
 
The participants should benefit from the stay by getting to know the partner institution’s conceptual policy, their program planning, and work approach, and by identifying synergistic effects.
 
Additionally a common project shall be designed and implemented in order to increase the visibility of German-French cooperation in the respective hometowns. This project shall lay the foundation for more cultural cooperation in the future.

Description du programme

Les manifestations culturelles franco-allemandes telles que les festivals cinématographiques, les productions théâtrales et les expositions avec des artistes de France et d’Allemagne ouvrent de nouveaux horizons vers le pays voisin au public. Elles contribuent à une meilleure connaissance de la culture voisine et sont une belle illustration de rapports amicaux entre deux pays.

C’est pourquoi nous promouvons les relations franco-allemandes dans la culture. A travers le programme DUO, nous souhaitons motiver les institutions culturelles en France et en Allemagne de sceller des partenariats durables grâce à un échange de personnel.

DUO finance des séjours professionnels (entre deux et quatre semaines) d’un employé culturel français et allemand chez son institution partenaire. La résidence devra permettre au participant de faire connaissance de l’équipe, de découvrir les fondements institutionnels, la programmation ainsi que l’organisation du travail du partenaire et d’identifier des effets de synergie possibles entre les deux institutions.

DUO soutient de même un projet culturel franco-allemand, conçu, développé et réalisé pendant les séjours professionnels. Le projet commun devra servir d’accroître la visibilité de la coopération franco-allemande dans leurs villes respectives et, au mieux, d’ouvrir la voie à une série de manifestations communes.
