Visiting Program for Japanese Journalists to Germany and the European Union
The program is aimed at journalists in all Japanese media outlets. Up to 12 participants are invited to Germany and to other EU countries to spend six days discussing a current issue. As is the case in its other programs, the foundation also wants to support junior journalists. For that reason, a few of the vacancies are given to journalism students from the Okuma School of Public Management, a graduate school of Waseda University, Tokyo.
The program includes an introductory symposium as well as discussions with players from politics, administration, economy, science, and media. During the second half of the program, the journalists have the opportunity to do their own research. Linguistic support is provided. German or English language skills are not a prerequisite for participating in the program. Publications following the conclusion of the trip are expressly desired.
In order to prepare the participants, Waseda University conducts a one-day compact seminar in Tokyo prior to the start of the program.
In 2008, a pilot program took place in Berlin and Brussels on the topic of climate change.
The partners in organization and implementation of the program are the Japanese-German Center Berlin and Waseda University, Tokyo.
The "Visiting Program for Japanese Journalists to Germany and the European Union 2010" will take place in Berlin an another European city from June 7 until June 11 (arrival in Germany on June 6, departure from Germany on June 12, 2010) on the topic "Creating the Future - Innovation in a Globalized World". 日本のメディアによるドイツやヨーロッパに関する報道が画一的にならず、的確なものであるよう奨励することを目的に、ロバート・ボッシュ財団は日本人ジャーナリスト欧州招聘事業を2008年に開始した。
本招聘事業は日本のあらゆるメディアで活躍するジャーナリストを対象とし、最高12名のジャーナリストを６日間の日程でドイツおよびEU諸国に招聘し、タイムリーなテーマに取り組むものである。ロバート・ボッシュ財団主催の他の事業と同様、後継者の育成を目的としている。そのため、早稲田大学大学院公共経営研究科の情報ジャーナリズム専攻学生のための採用枠がもうけられている。
本事業の日程には導入としてのシンポジウムと、政産官学界および報道界の専門家との話し合いの機会があり、日程の後半には、ジャーナリストである参加者が自ら取材にでかける機会ももうけられている。その際、言葉の問題が生じないようサポートには万全を期している。ドイツ語および英語の能力は本招聘事業参加の前提条件ではない。招聘日程終了後、なんらかの形で本事業に関する報道あるいは出版がなされるよう希望する。
参加準備の一環として、早稲田大学がコンパクトセミナー（１日）を開催する。
2008年に地球温暖化をテーマとして、ベルリンおよびブリュッセルでパイロットプログラムが実施された。

ロバート・ボッシュ財団は、2010年６月７日から11日にかけて、第２回『日本人ジャーナリスト欧州招聘事業』を実施します。本プログラムでは、「未来を築く――国際競争力におけるイノベーション」のテーマの下で研修、視察、取材する日本人ジャーナリストをベルリン（ドイツ）および欧州内の別の都市にご招待します。日本発６月６日、帰国は同12日です。プログラムの応募要領（日独語）ならびに応募用紙（日本語）は本サイトからダウンロード可能です。締め切りは2010年4月６日です。
