DVA-Stiftung
The DVA-Stiftung GmbH was founded in 1980 with funds from the Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart. In January 2005 it was transferred without charge to the Robert Bosch Stiftung.
The DVA-Stiftung fosters German-French relations in the fields of cultural studies, translation, literature, and theater.
The foundation has awarded the translation prize for projects in the humanities and social sciences since 1986. In 2004, the name of the award was changed to Raymond Aron Prize. The André Gide Prize for German-French literary translation was instituted in 1997. Through its program "Theater-Transfer" the DVA-Stiftung offers annual scholarships to support the translation of contemporary works for theater.
At the University of Stuttgart, the DVA-Stiftung supports a program for French visiting professors. In addition, dialog between German and French scholars is fostered by lectures and scholarly cooperation projects.
