EU-Russia Forum
The EU-Russia Forum was officially opened in Brussels in April 2008. Relations between Russia and the European Union are of central importance for the future of Europe. A forum was therefore created based on the Transatlantic Policy Network to bring together multipliers and representatives from all social sectors in EU member states and Russia.
The EU-Russia Forum provides opportunities for extending dialog with Russia by supplementing bilateral forums like the Petersburg Dialog with discussions at the European level. The aim is to intensify relations between the EU and Russia and define the "New Strategic Partnership".
The EU-Russia Forum was initiated and is run by the EU-Russia Centre with the support of the Robert Bosch Stiftung. Its chairman is Wolfgang Clement, former Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia and German Minister for Economics and Labor.
