Information for Applicants

Profile
Applications are invited from advanced students and graduates in teacher training specializing in German, foreign languages, or politics, and from advanced students and graduates of other arts or social science disciplines such as German as a foreign language or history. Applicants must be native speakers of German or have German native-speaker competence.

Duties
The program participants will observe, assist in, or themselves carry out teaching (especially in German language tuition) at an elementary school or college-preparatory high school. They will also initiate and implement projects with the pupils in the host schools – for example theater plays, writing workshops, or photo exhibitions. As a rule, they will be engaged in activities in the host school for up to 12 hours per week.

Compensation
  • A monthly stipend of 800 euros plus funds to cover travel and insurance costs and language instruction
  • Support toward costs incurred in project work
  • Introductory seminar and concluding seminar
  • Networking with other Robert Bosch Stiftung programs
  • Support in tandem from a local teacher and locally based German mentor
