Scholarships for talented students from immigrant families
Stuttgart, January 21, 2008 – Robert Bosch Stiftung and Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg are advertising a new round of "Talent im Land Baden-Württemberg," the scholarship program for school students. Starting in the upcoming school year, the two foundations will again sponsor 50 young people from migrant backgrounds. Applications are open to students in 8th grade and above who have excellent grades, aim to qualify for university entrance, and are committed to social involvement. Teachers are invited to encourage gifted students to apply for a scholarship. Applications close on April 1, 2008.
The program offers financial aid for talented and committed students from migrant families and includes a comprehensive sponsorship concept that addresses the students' schools, families, and social environment. In addition to receiving a monthly stipend averaging 200 euros, students also attend a program of seminars and other events and receive personal study counseling. Additional funding is also available where needed for language tuition, class trips, and buying a computer. Since the launch of "Talent im Land Baden-Württemberg" in 2003, the foundation has sponsored over 576 girls and boys from 44 different countries of origin.
In 2005, "Talent im Land Baden-Württemberg" became a joint project of Robert Bosch Stiftung and Landesstiftung Baden-Württemberg.
